The Curriculum
All phases of schooling at St Ita's are underpinned by Brisbane Catholic Education's Learning and Teaching Framework and The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Declaration (2019). The Alice Springs (Mparntwe - pronounced as M-ban-tua) Education Declaration sets the national vision for education for all Australians and notes two goals:

Curriculum design and delivery at St Ita's is grounded in the Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Education Declaration and is mindful of the declaration's goals. In alignment with the declaration and the Australian Curriculum, which promotes excellence and equity, we support students to achieve high standards and provide structures and adjusted strategies that enable equitable learning experiences.
Our curriculum is based on the Australian Curriculum and the BCE Religion Curriculum and is delivered through evidence-based teaching practices that support high levels of student achievement. Teachers use explicit instruction, clear learning goals, structured lessons and timely feedback to ensure students are actively engaged, appropriately challenged and successful in their learning
Students participate in a rich and balanced curriculum, including Religion, English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Health and Physical Education, Technologies, The Arts and French. Specialist teachers provide learning opportunities in Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music and Languages.
At St Ita’s, strong partnerships between home and school are highly valued. Parents are invited to attend Parent Information Night at the beginning of the year and Parent-Teacher Interviews in Terms 1 and 3. Families may also request a meeting with their child’s teacher at any time throughout the year. Formal written reports are provided twice yearly, at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2, giving parents a clear understanding of their child’s progress and achievement.
