At St Ita's, assessment is an important part of the learning journey. It helps our teachers understand each student's strengths, celebrate growth and identify the next steps for learning. Through ongoing assessment, teachers gather and interpret information to ensure every child is supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their personal best.
We value strong partnerships between home and school and believe that regular communication is essential to student success. Parents and carers are invited to attend Parent-Teacher Interviews at the beginning of Terms 1 and 3, providing an opportunity to discuss academic progress, wellbeing, learning goals and any areas where additional support may be beneficial.
Families receive comprehensive digital reports at the end of each semester via BCE Connect. These reports provide an overview of student achievement, learning behaviours and personal development, and are aligned with the achievement standards of the Australian Curriculum.
At St Ita's, communication is ongoing rather than limited to scheduled reporting periods. Parents are encouraged to contact their child's teacher throughout the year whenever they wish to discuss progress, celebrate achievements or seek support. We believe that when families and educators work together, students are best placed to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
